Interview with Dr. Odd Vangen
In this interview, Dr. Laila Aass speaks with Dr. Odd Vangen about his lifelong career at the Norwegian University of Agricultural Sciences, now the Norwegian University of Life Sciences, where he also completed his undergraduate and graduate degrees. Professor Vangen describes his development of X-ray computed tomography as a tool for genetic improvement in the pig breeding industry. He discusses the biological aspects of long-term animal breeding programs including the resource costs of selective change, and his approach and focus to training and mentorship of young scientists.
